Art-based pedagogical methods for the development of emotional education
One of our school's main focuses is the development of social competencies. Our Erasmus application was prepared with this in mind. To address stress and anxiety in children, we aim to enhance emotional education and social skills, nurturing inclusive, tolerant citizens who uphold democratic values. To support this, we sent our teachers to training courses where they learned innovative, art-based pedagogical methods. Our objective is for teachers to apply these methods practically in their everyday work, increasing their sense of self-efficacy in fostering children's emotional growth.
We also aim to improve the quality of English language education, promote intercultural dialogue, and strengthen a sense of European identity. To achieve this, we have established a close partnership with an Irish school. Additionally, expanding our professional network, gaining experience in an international educational setting, and learning from best practices at other schools are key goals as we seek to build long-term professional collaborations.
Mobilities
As part of our project, we successfully completed 12 teacher mobility programs. Our colleagues participated in advanced teacher training across various parts of Europe, enabling us to enhance our methodological diversity and strengthen the European values embedded in the Kincskereső School.
Additionally, we had the opportunity to visit our partner school in Ireland, with whom we have established a long-term student exchange program.
TEACHING ENGLISH AND OTHER SUBJECTS WITH DRAMA
Judit Czakó in Dublin
The atmosphere was relaxed, cheerful, and creative, with no signs of tension or inhibition. It was truly exciting to experience the "embodying" approach to drama, which was new to me. Seeing how effective it is to express emotions and thoughts through the body, and then release them, was liberating. I discovered ideas and methods that are accessible even to beginners or more timid students. The drama techniques I learned will help me create a calm, relaxed environment, particularly when using "ice-breakers" and conversational tasks.
ACTIVE ART - UNDERSTANDING AND ENJOYING ART IN THE CLASSROOM AND BEYOND
Júlia Menyhért in Barcelona
I discovered many exciting and useful ideas at the Active Art course! Techniques like intuitive painting, drawing, the sketchbook method, art journaling, as well as approaches for social-emotional learning and mindfulness training, were all covered. It was great to experiment with these methods, which I can now incorporate into my work with students.
DEVELOPMENT OF CREATIVE THINKING AND EDUCATION TO BE AN ACTIVE CITIZEN
Kata Gombos and Anna Málnási Csizmadia in Reykjavík
We gathered numerous ideas to enhance our students' social competences through creative activities such as painting, clay work, and drama. During the theoretical sessions, we explored the most pressing social issues within the European Union. What surprised us was that, through discussion, we were able to identify an activity for each problem that can be conducted in a school environment, sensitizing students of all age groups at an appropriate level.
INCLUSIVE EDUCATION IN PRACTICE
Kinga Magyar and Ágnes Ruzsa in Barcelona
During the "We Are All Special" training, we explored various approaches to inclusion and support for students with special educational needs, both inside and outside the classroom. Each day of the course, we had the opportunity to try out practical activities that can be effectively integrated into teaching. The main objective in every case was to prevent the isolation of students with learning or behavioral challenges and to reduce disruptive behavior.
Judit Bence, Barbi Czimbal, Anna Sagát and Móni Venczel in Rovinj
We explored new theories, practical tasks, activities, and games, while also improving our language skills and challenging ourselves in new situations. Judit focused on communication, emotions, and conflict management; Móni participated in training on inclusion; Anna explored strategy, drama, and board games; and Barbi attended an English language course. "Throughout our courses, we often realized that many of the methods familiar to us at Kincskereső were new to other Hungarian teachers. We take pride in this!"
SCHOOL VISIT TO ST.BENIGNUS PRIMARY SCHOOL IN BALSCADDEN
Judit Bence and Anna Málnási Csizmadia in Dublin
We had the opportunity to spend a week at a primary school very similar to Kincskereső, coinciding with Halloween week. During our stay, we conducted engaging lessons for the children, gained valuable insights into the Irish education system and its best practices, and collaborated with the teachers there on future joint projects.
Irish-Hungarian brotherhood (eTwinning)
Christmas greetings to the sibling class: you can't see it in the picture, but we made our postcard in a giant size, which we not only sent in photos, but also in the mail before the holidays!
The formation of the international pairs took place in a mysterious way... both Irish and Hungarian children made a door to symbolize their personality, and based on this they chose their pen pals and their future visiting partners.
Dissemination opportunities
The experiences gained during the mobilities were shared within the faculty, as part of Erasmus Days, with interested external colleagues and parents.
